FREE - SketchUp, works on PC, Mac, and Unix computers. a very powerful and versatile tool set for 3D modeling . You can do incredible work before you start making money, then you can purchase the pro level version. There are hundreds of YouTube tutorials and it is SO much fun! I've seen people as young as eight dive in and do amazing things with it.

I've been working on a 3D page for this site for a long time. Not there yet but I do have one small example of mine of a card stock model that I finished and mapped the texture of the building on to the 3D model. I also placed my model in a photograph of the position of the actual building as architects often do for presentation. Weebly, A free web development tool set that I can not praise enough. When I started teaching what was essentially cyberspace navigation design (1989) , Weebly would have qualified as science fiction. http://www.weebly.com/
GigaPan panoramas are incredibly intense visual stimulation. On their site look under "View" at the galleries of awe inspiring work by photographers and scientists from all over the planet.http://gigapan.org/ I'm in a gigapan taken during a Riparian Habitat Monitoring Workshop at http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=31416 if you zoom into the group people down in the valley on the right, I'm the person on the far right looking down at my notes. I have a hat with a red visor. There is another group of people at the other end of the valley. This pano is made of 672 jpg images taken from the top of a nearby mountain.

The breakthrough had eluded laboratory scientists for 15 years, yet, amazingly, the teams of gamers (80,000) that worked on the problem needed just three weeks to decipher the structure.
